“Scratch My Vinyl” is a collection of portraits featuring my favorite musical artists. Rufus Wainwright is one of them. I saw him perform live several times and I had to include him in this series because of the great emotion I feel listening to his music.
The portraits are made by scratching with a nail on the surface of the vinyl, which was previously ruined by scratches and no longer listenable. In this process, I can “play” the record, turning the damage into a creative tool.
The vinyl artwork with Rufus’ portrait is decorated on both sides. One side has the portrait of the artist, and the other one has a typography artwork with his name.
The label is made using acrylic colors, pastels, marker and golden leaf.
